Start with a cephalometric radiograph

Open a lateral or posteroanterior headfilm (JPG, PNG, BMP, WebP), calibrate it on the ruler, then place the landmarks. Every analysis updates as you trace. Images stay on this device.

Patient and record

Age and sex select the matching norms (Wits, McNamara, Ricketts growth-adjusted values, frontal widths).

Calibrate the radiograph

Linear values need a scale. Mark two points a known distance apart on the radiograph ruler, or type the pixel size from the imaging software. Angles and ratios work without calibration.

If the ruler lies in the midsagittal plane it is magnified like the patient: leave magnification at 0 for life-size values. Classic norms were collected on films with roughly 8-10% (lateral) enlargement, so many clinicians compare uncorrected film-size values.

Project

A project file keeps patient details, both radiographs, landmarks and calibration so the case can be reopened or re-traced later.

Working guide

  1. Open the radiograph, enter the patient age and sex, then calibrate on the film ruler.
  2. Pick an analysis on the right. The landmark list shows only what that analysis needs; "All" shows everything.
  3. Place: tap or click to drop the active landmark, drag any landmark to refine it. A magnifier follows the pointer. Use the arrows to nudge.
  4. Tap a measurement to see its construction on the film and which landmarks are still missing.
  5. Build report collects every analysis with norms, deviations and interpretation. Print it or save as PDF from the print dialog.

Deviation marks follow the clinical-deviation convention: * beyond the normal range, ** more than one further deviation, *** more than two. Cephalometric values are aids; correlate every reading with the clinical examination, casts and photographs before diagnosis.
